In 2021, Shane Magor went through a period of not enjoying a beer and stopped drinking for some time, until a close friend offered him a gin and tonic and WOW……It was love at first taste and after a few more G&T’s, the business mind went into overdrive.

A Real Estate Agent at the time, Shane had lost the passion and drive and needed a new challenge and career path and were fortunate to be a 3rd generation Magor with some beautiful farming land at Myponga on the Fleurieu Peninsula in SA.

The Fleurieu Peninsula is a tourist hot spot given its proximity to Adelaide, the Coast and McLaren Vale Wine Region and the site on the busy tourist route between Myponga and Carrickalinga was earmarked for the new venture given its breathtaking views of the Fleurieu Peninsula coastline. 

Fleurieu Gin was created in November 2021 by Shane & Kylie Magor where things progressed quickly thanks to the COVID epidemic as it proved the perfect opportunity for extensive product testing and tastings during lockdown periods with numerous sample batches being trialed by family & friends (where possible and in accordance with social distancing and lockdown protocols of course).

Business planning, build and design investigations followed allowing for construction of the Fleurieu Gin Production Plant & Distillery which commenced in January 2023 and now under construction with completion anticipated around November 2024.
